ProcessBarron’s double dump valves provide a durable, low-maintenance solution for moving dry bulk solids between areas of differing air pressure while maintaining critical airlock integrity. Unlike rotary valves, which experience wear due to constant blade-tohousing contact, double dump valves allow materials to flow freely while preventing backflow of air or gas, making them ideal for ash handling and other bulk material conveying systems. Applications and Materials Double dump valves are widely used in industrial operations, including drop-out box hoppers, dust collectors, baghouses, precipitators, and screw conveyors. They efficiently handle granular, free-flowing materials such as fly ash, sawdust, lime, cement, clinker, sinter, and sand. Sizes and Types ProcessBarron offers three standard sizes of double dump valves- 8″, 10″, and 12″ square openings-with capacities ranging from 93 lbs/ft’ to 300 lbs/ft’. Each size is available in three specialized types: ST (StandardTemperature): Up to 650°F with abrasion-resistantinternals HT (High Temperature): 650°F-1000°F with enhanced abrasion-resistant components WF (Wood Fired): Up to 650°F with abrasion-resistantinternals All components are in stock and ready for immediate shipment, allowing rapid deployment and system upgrades. Construction and Operation Built for electric, pneumatic, or gravity operation, each double dump valve features ductile cast iron bodies, Ni-Hard flaps and seats, Large access panels allow in-place service of flaps and seats without system disassembly. Optional Dutchman spacers can be added to increase operating capacity. Electric arrangements include counterweighted flaps, spring-mounted gearboxes, TEFC motors, and slip clutches for overload protection. Pneumatic versions use air cylinders with flow control valves, solenoid packages, and position indicators for precise operation on minimal compressed air.
